The Melic del Gòtic restaurant, located in the remains of an old convent in the heart of Barcelona’s old town, opens its doors to offer you a delicious Mediterranean cuisine in a warm and rustic atmosphere with a lot of history.
Grilled cuisine in the Gothic quarter of Barcelona
The walls of the Melic del Gòtic are all that remain of the15th-century Montsió convent. They formed part of the south wing of the convent, where the penance cells were located. Years later, the convent was moved stone by stone to the upper part of the city. During the following centuries, the space was used as a wine cellar for the monks of the convent, later as a tavern and today as a restaurant.
Legend has it that whenever a piece of these walls falls off, the kind spirit of that community permeates the atmosphere of the place.
The Melic del Gòtic offers a wide variety of chargrilled meats, accompanied by a fine selection of salads and side dishes.
All the ingredients are local and representative of the Mediterranean diet.
The wine list proposes wines from the region, crianzas and reservas from the best denominations of origin.
Melic del Gòtic offers quality products cooked on the grill and based on a single premise: products that are prepared well and with patience can only be called one thing – delicious!
That is the concept of the restaurant, with a menu created for lovers of grilled meats, carefully selected salads and fresh and healthy desserts. Bon Appetit!
